Le canal Leuven-Dijle est l'un des plus anciens de Belgique. Il relie le bief de canal à Louvain à l'embouchure de la Senne à Malines sur une distance de 30 km. Les cinq écluses authentiques - Tildonk, Kampenhout, Boortmeerbeek, Battel et Zennegat - ainsi que leur environnement sont protégés. Aujourd'hui, on y voit non seulement d'impressionnants navires de fret. Le port de plaisance du complexe d'écluses à Kampenhout illustre la popularité croissante du canal auprès des plaisanciers.
