Sur un ancien site fortifié le long de la Lys, un petit château de style empire fut construit au début du 19e siècle. Il servit plus tard de résidence d'été pour l'avocat et échevin gantois Justinus Martens, puis depuis 1868 pour le sénateur Ernest Solvyns. Vers 1920, il fut vendu par la famille Solvyns. Il a connu plusieurs destinations, y compris celle de restaurant. Actuellement, il est occupé par un industriel gantois.
