Le canal Albert relie le port d’Anvers à celui de Liège via des communes comme Herentals, Geel, Hasselt et Genk. C’est aussi le canal de liaison entre l’Escaut et la Meuse et il joue donc à ce titre un rôle important pour la navigation fluviale et notre approvisionnement en eau potable.
