"Spletterenbrug" sur la Moervaart à Daknam. Un nom qui résonne, mais aussi un endroit idyllique en pleine nature. Avec un peu d'imagination, vous voyez et entendez dans votre esprit le dernier train à vapeur, chargé de betteraves sucrières, dévaler les voies. Depuis 1867, les trains à vapeur circulaient sur la ligne Aalst-Lokeren-Zelzate ici pendant 100 ans. Le pont a été détruit à deux reprises par des armées en retraite. En 1918 par les Allemands et en 1940 par l'armée belge. Le pont, restauré par l'occupant après 1940, est resté jusqu'à aujourd'hui, à quelques campagnes de peinture près, inchangé. Le nom Spletteren fait référence à l'ancien nom des champs environnants.
