Le Parc archéologique : 1000 ans d'histoire reviennent à la vie
L'abbaye d'Ename remonte à un château… Vers 974, Ename, le long d'un méandre de l'Escaut, était le lieu choisi pour établir un poste frontière entre l'empire français et l'empire allemand. Ce château impérial a été détruit et en 1063, l'abbaye de Saint-Sauveur a été fondée. Jusqu'à la Révolution française, l'abbaye et ses environs grouillaient d'activités.
Aujourd'hui, vous pouvez visiter le parc archéologique de 8 hectares. Des chercheurs ont redonné vie à l'histoire de l'abbaye grâce à une ‘Fenêtre temporelle’. Virtuellement, entendons-nous.
