Les canaux de Campine – ils sont au nombre de sept ! – ont été créés au milieu du 19ème siècle. Ils devaient acheminer l’eau vers les arides Kempen et permettre le transport de marchandises. Aujourd'hui, les canaux et leur environnement riche en nature sont un paradis pour les cyclistes, les randonneurs et les amateurs de sports nautiques.
