A environ 600 mètres au-delà du coupe-feu du tir se trouve la cible des 1000 mètres. Contrairement aux autres cibles, elle est bien visible depuis le sentier.
Spa abritait un grand champ de tir où, dès 1907, 52 tireurs pouvaient s'adonner à leur passion sur un complexe de cibles géantes en acier de type Bremer.
Les installations étaient adaptées au tir d'armes à des distances de 12 à 1 000 mètres .
