Non loin de Zonnebeke (le musée mémorial Passchendaele 1917 mérite d'être visité) se trouve le cimetière britannique de Tyne Cot. Dans la région, les Britanniques et les Allemands ont perdu 500 000 hommes en cent jours. Le plus grand cimetière du Royaume-Uni sur le continent européen compte 11 956 tombes. Les noms de 34 957 disparus sont gravés.
