Wimmis est une commune suisse du canton de Berne, située dans l'arrondissement administratif de Frutigen-Bas-Simmental.
Wimmis se situe à 629 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer à l'entrée du Simmental dans l'Oberland bernois au confluant des rivières Kander et Simme. Les communes adjacentes sont, en commençant au nord et dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre : Spiez, Aeschi bei Spiez, Reichenbach im Kandertal, Diemtigen et Reutigen.
