Salquenen, appelée en allemand Salgesch, est une commune suisse du canton du Valais, située dans le district de Loèche.
Salquenen est une ancienne commanderie de l'ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem dont l'existence est attestée depuis 1235. Ce fut ensuite un membre de la commanderie de l'Hôpital-sous-Conflans puis enfin un membre de la commanderie de Chambéry avant que les Hospitaliers ne vende ce bien en 1655.
