Mont-sur-Rolle est une commune suisse du canton de Vaud, située dans le district de Nyon, elle fait partie de La Côte.
Montibus et « Mont loz Grant » sont attestés en 1403. L’appellation « Mont-le-Grand » est en vigueur jusqu’au XIXe siècle par opposition à « Mont-le-Vieux », puissante seigneurie sur le territoire d’Essertines-sur-Rolle. La forme moderne de Mont-sur-Rolle s’est imposée au XXe siècle seulement.
