La vallée de Gasterntal, également appelée Gasterental ou Gasteretal, est une vallée située près de Kandersteg dans l'Oberland bernois. Elle est traversée par la Kander. Le bassin de la vallée arrière se trouve à environ 1600 m, et la sortie de la vallée à environ 1350 m d'altitude. La vallée n'est habitée que pendant les mois d'été.
Gasteren signifie dans le dialecte de Kandersteg la même chose que passer la nuit. Autrefois, Selden, la partie arrière de la vallée, était habitée toute l'année ; deux auberges offraient aux voyageurs traversant le col de Lötschen un hébergement et des repas.
