Het Gasterntal, ook wel Gasterental of Gasteretal genoemd, is een vallei bij Kandersteg in het Berner Oberland. Het wordt door de Kander doorstroomd. De achterste kom van de vallei ligt op ongeveer 1600 m, de uitgang van de vallei op ongeveer 1350 m hoogte. De vallei is alleen tijdens de zomermaanden bewoond.
Gasteren betekent in het Kandersteger dialect zoveel als overnachten. Vroeger was Selden, het achterste deel van de vallei, het hele jaar door bewoond; twee herbergen boden de reizigers over de Lötschenpas onderdak en voeding.
