Swisstopo est le nom de l'Office fédéral de la topographie en Suisse. Il dépend du Département fédéral de la défense, de la protection de la population et des sports.
Il a été fondé par le général Dufour en 1838 à Carouge. À la tête de l'office, le général travaille sur la carte Dufour qui devient rapidement une référence en la matière. En 1865, Herman Siegfried en devient le responsable et déménage l'office à Berne. Il est également à l'origine de la carte qui porte son nom.
