La gare a été ouverte le 1er juin 1908 par le chemin de fer Ramsei-Sumiswald-Huttwil avec 735 m comme gare la plus haute de la ligne. En raison de l’emplacement du centre du village, une connexion entre la communauté et la ligne Ramsei-Sumiswald-Huttwil n’était possible qu’à l’extérieur.
De 2004 à 2009, Affoltern-Weier a été le terminus de la ligne S-Bahn S4 de Berne au départ de Berthoud et exploitée par BLS. Depuis lors, la communauté n’est desservie que par un bus, mais le trajet était toujours praticable par la suite. Le raccourcissement a été effectué pour des raisons de circulation, car il a permis d’économiser une composition de véhicules et en même temps la municipalité d’Affoltern a été mieux développée avec la ligne de bus.
