Gleina est une commune dans le district de Burgenlandkreis en Saxe-Anhalt. Elle appartient à la communauté d'association d'Unstruttal, dont le siège administratif est dans la ville de Freyburg.
Gleina se situe sur la route nationale 180 entre Querfurt au nord et Freyburg au sud. La nature du sol est plutôt inhabituelle : les importantes réserves de tourbe de la région ont constitué au cours du dernier millénaire l'un des piliers de la richesse de Gleina.
