Osthofen est une municipalité allemande située dans le land de Rhénanie-Palatinat et l'arrondissement d'Alzey-Worms. Osthofen était nommé comme Cité le 24 oct. 1970. Osthofen est reconnu par l'État comme commune touristique .
Des trouvailles archéologiques donnaient la preuve que le district d'Osthofen était colonisé sur le Seebach depuis plus que quatre mille années. Le village était cité pour la première fois dans le Codex de Lorsch comme Ostowa. Il s'agit probablement de Mühlheim, aujourd'hui un quartier de Osthofen, respectivement d'une fondation d'un palais du roi mérovingien siégeant à Neuhausen.
