Bruchmachtersen est l'un des 31 quartiers de la ville indépendante de Salzgitter en Basse-Saxe, situé dans la localité de Nord. Bruchmachtersen se trouve à l'ouest de Salzgitter-Lebenstedt et de Salzgitter-Salder, au nord-est de Salzgitter-Lichtenberg et au sud du lac de Salzgitter.
Bruchmachtersen appartenait jusqu'au 31 mars 1942 au district de Wolfenbüttel et est devenu le 1er avril 1942 une partie de la grande ville de Watenstedt-Salzgitter. Le 23 janvier 1951, celle-ci a été rebaptisée Salzgitter.
