Salzgitter-Bad est le deuxième plus grand des 31 quartiers de la ville libre de Salzgitter en Basse-Saxe, situé dans la localité de Süd, et est le quartier qui a donné son nom à la ville de Salzgitter, fondée le 1er avril 1942, qui s'appelait auparavant Watenstedt-Salzgitter jusqu'au 23 janvier 1951.
Le quartier actuel « Salzgitter-Bad » ne s'appelait que « Salzgitter » jusqu'en 1951 et était jusqu'en 1942 une petite ville dans l'ancien district de Goslar. Le quartier a une superficie d'environ 19,284 km².
