La réserve naturelle de Mengeder Heide est située dans le quartier de Mengede à Dortmund, en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, en Allemagne. Elle se trouve directement au sud-est du faisceau autoroutier entre les autoroutes A 2 et A 45. Au sud, elle est bordée par l'Emscher et couvre 15,35 hectares. La réserve naturelle « Mengeder Heide » a été désignée le 19 juin 1986 par une décision provisoire du gouvernement de district d'Arnsberg. Le 30 novembre 1990, elle a été incluse dans le plan paysager de Dortmund-Nord et le 2 septembre 2005 dans la première modification du plan paysager.
