Le Böckinger See était un lac allongé situé au sud-est du quartier de Böckingen à Heilbronn, qui s’était formé à partir d’un méandre du Neckar qui s’était partiellement asséché depuis 1333. Pendant longtemps, le lac a été un double lac du lac supérieur et du lac inférieur. Après que le lac inférieur ait déjà été asséché au 19e siècle, le lac supérieur a également été rétréci au profit des installations ferroviaires de Böckingen de 1894 à 1896, puis réduit en taille et finalement comblé en 1948 avec des gravats du village, qui avait été gravement endommagé pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
