La Bataille de Jemmingen, qui s'est déroulée le 21 juillet 1568, près de Jemgum, en Frise orientale , se termina par une victoire écrasante de l'armée espagnole commandée par le duc d'Albe, Ferdinand Alvare de Tolède, face à l'armée des Provinces-Unies commandée par Louis de Nassau.
15 000 soldats espagnols écrasèrent les 12 000 soldats hollandais, qui comptèrent plus de 7 000 morts ou blessés, contre 300 pour les Espagnols.
