La clinique pulmonaire de Hemer est un hôpital spécialisé dans les maladies pulmonaires avec pneumologie, chirurgie thoracique, radiologie, radiothérapie et anesthésie. Depuis 1996, un institut de recherche en biologie tumorale fait également partie de la clinique pulmonaire.
Le bâtiment de l'actuelle clinique pulmonaire a été construit en tant qu'hôpital de district et inauguré en 1908. À la fin des années 1930, la Wehrmacht a réaménagé l'hôpital en tant qu'hôpital de site ; après la mobilisation, il a été transformé en hôpital de réserve. Les bombardements des Alliés ont endommagé le bâtiment. L'Association allemande de la diaconie communautaire a envoyé Hans Meyer et quelques diaconesses de la maison mère de Bleibergquelle pour la reconstruction à Hemer. Meyer est resté directeur administratif de la clinique pendant 34 ans.
