Le trou de Sainte-Anne est la partie la plus profonde d’un fossé en pente raide dans le lit du Rhin entre la ville suisse de Rheinfelden sur la rive gauche du Rhin et la ville allemande de Rheinfelden sur la rive droite du Rhin. Il s’agit d’une limite de plaque tectonique au bord de la plaine du Rhin supérieur, qui passe directement sous le pont du Vieux Rhin. Le fossé atteint sa profondeur maximale d’environ 32 mètres à quelques mètres sous le pont sur le Rhin, au légendaire St.-Anna-Loch.
