Le musée d'art de Wolfsburg est situé dans le centre-ville de Wolfsburg et a été ouvert en 1994. Il présente de l'art moderne et contemporain et est soutenu par la fondation d'art Volkswagen.
Quatre aspects de la ville industrielle de Wolfsburg, fondée en 1938, sont abordés : modernité, urbanité, internationalité et qualité. Le musée d'art est situé à la « tête sud » de la zone piétonne, à proximité de la maison de culture Alvar-Aalto, du théâtre, du planétarium et du CongressPark.
