La station de pompage d'Otterndorf, avec son bassin versant de 483 km², est le principal acteur de l'assainissement de Hadelns, du Sietland, de Bad Bederkesa ainsi que de certaines parties de la Börde Lamstedt. Depuis 1953, elle se compose en réalité de deux stations de pompage techniques complètement séparées, pour le fonctionnement desquelles un groupe électrogène de secours commun est disponible depuis 1996.
