La réserve naturelle Engdener Wüste/Heseper Moor est un site protégé dans la commune de Engden dans le Samtgemeinde de Schüttorf, la commune unifiée de Wietmarschen et la ville de Nordhorn dans le Landkreis de Grafschaft Bentheim, ainsi que dans la commune unifiée d'Emsbüren dans le Landkreis d'Emsland.
La réserve naturelle, portant la désignation NSG WE 188, s'étend sur 1 012 hectares. Parmi ceux-ci, 915,2 hectares appartiennent au Landkreis de Grafschaft Bentheim et 96,8 hectares au Landkreis d'Emsland. La réserve naturelle coïncide presque exactement avec la zone de protection des oiseaux de l'UE "Engdener Wüste" désignée en 2003. Une grande partie fait également partie de la zone FFH "Heseper Moor, Engdener Wüste", déclarée en 1999 et couvrant 795 hectares. La zone est protégée depuis le 21 décembre 2002. Elle englobe la réserve naturelle "Engdener Wüste" désignée le 16 avril 1988. Les autorités de protection de la nature compétentes sont les landkreis de Grafschaft Bentheim et d'Emsland.
