La Wüste di Engden/Heseper è un'area protetta nel comune di Engden nella Samtgemeinde Schüttorf, nel comune unico di Wietmarschen e nella città di Nordhorn nel distretto della Grafschaft Bentheim e nel comune unico di Emsbüren nel distretto di Emsland.
L'area protetta con la designazione NSG WE 188 è grande 1.012 ettari. Di questi, 915,2 ettari appartengono al distretto della Grafschaft Bentheim e 96,8 ettari al distretto di Emsland. L'area protetta coincide quasi completamente con l'area di protezione degli uccelli dell'UE "Wüste di Engden" designata nel 2003. Una grande parte è anche parte della zona FFH di 795 ettari "Heseper Moor, Wüste di Engden" designata nel 1999. L'area è protetta dal 21 dicembre 2002. Essa comprende l'area protetta "Wüste di Engden" designata il 16 aprile 1988. Le autorità locali competenti per la protezione della natura sono i distretti della Grafschaft Bentheim e di Emsland.
