La "Engdener Wüste/Heseper Moor" es un área protegida en el municipio de Engden, en la comunidad de Samtgemeinde Schüttorf, la comunidad unitaria de Wietmarschen y la ciudad de Nordhorn, en el distrito de Grafschaft Bentheim, así como en la comunidad unitaria de Emsbüren del distrito de Emsland.
El área protegida, con la designación NSG WE 188, abarca 1.012 hectáreas. De este total, 915.2 hectáreas pertenecen al distrito de Grafschaft Bentheim y 96.8 hectáreas al distrito de Emsland. El área protegida es prácticamente idéntica a la zona de protección de aves de la UE "Engdener Wüste" designada en 2003. Una gran parte también forma parte del área de conservación de hábitats "Heseper Moor, Engdener Wüste", designada en 1999, que abarca 795 hectáreas. El área ha estado protegida desde el 21 de diciembre de 2002. En ella se ha incorporado el área protegida "Engdener Wüste", designada el 16 de abril de 1988. Las autoridades de conservación responsables son los distritos de Grafschaft Bentheim y Emsland.
