Le Barnacken près de Horn, dans le district de Lippe en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, avec ses 446,4 m d'altitude au-dessus du niveau de la mer, est la plus haute montagne de la forêt de Teutobourg. Il est situé non loin de la ligne de faille de ce massif montagneux vers les montagnes d'Egge, étant parfois également compté parmi celles-ci selon le zonage naturel.
Le Barnacken s'élève au sud-est de la forêt de Teutobourg, dans le parc naturel de la forêt de Teutobourg / montagnes d'Egge, à environ 3 km au nord-ouest de la jonction située dans la vallée de Silberbach près de la Silbermühle, qui mène vers les montagnes d'Egge au sud. Son sommet se trouve à environ 3 km au sud-ouest de Horn, un quartier au sud-ouest de Horn-Bad Meinberg, et à près de 3,5 km au nord-est de Kohlstädt, un quartier de la commune voisine de Schlangen.
