La maison Kickley a été construite par Otto Hoesch, membre de la famille industrielle Dürener Hoesch à Rath, selon les plans de Paul Darius et a été utilisée comme résidence de week-end. Après la mort d'Otto Hoesch au milieu des années 1960, la propriété a été mise en vente. Au début des années 1970, Jean Löring, ancien footballeur, entrepreneur et président du club de football SC Fortuna Köln, a acquis la maison ressemblant à un château Kickley. La propriété a été utilisée à l'époque de Löring à des fins représentatives et a acquis une certaine notoriété en raison des nombreux invités et événements prestigieux.
