La casa Kickley fu costruita da Otto Hoesch, membro della famiglia industriale Dürener Hoesch a Rath, secondo i progetti di Paul Darius, e utilizzata come residenza per i fine settimana. Dopo la morte di Otto Hoesch a metà degli anni '60, la proprietà fu messa in vendita. All'inizio degli anni '70, Jean Löring, ex calciatore, imprenditore e presidente del club calcistico SC Fortuna Köln, acquistò la casa simile a un castello Kickley. La proprietà fu utilizzata durante il periodo di Löring per scopi rappresentativi e acquisì una certa notorietà grazie ai numerosi ospiti di alto profilo e agli eventi.
