La rue des bordels existe ici depuis environ 1900, à l'époque sous le nom de rue Saint-Esprit. Elle est considérée comme l'une des plus anciennes rues de bordels d'Allemagne. Il s'agit d'une impasse avec une protection visuelle. Elle est située au nord-ouest du centre-ville, à environ 200 mètres au sud-ouest de l'Université de Duisburg-Essen et à 300 mètres au nord-ouest du centre commercial Limbecker Platz.
