La gare de Herzogenrath est la plus importante et la plus grande gare de Herzogenrath dans la région urbaine d'Aix-la-Chapelle. À la gare de Herzogenrath, la ligne vers Sittard via Heerlen et Landgraaf ainsi que la ligne de chemin de fer Stolberg–Herzogenrath, desservie par l'Euregiobahn, se séparent. Elle est située dans la zone tarifaire du consortium de transport d'Aix-la-Chapelle et dispose de plusieurs arrêts de bus ainsi qu'un parking de parc-and-ride avec une station de covoiturage de Cambio. En plus des distributeurs automatiques de billets, le bâtiment de la gare abrite également un kiosque et un centre de voyage géré par des privés, ouvert du lundi au vendredi de 9h à 15h. En plus de cela, Herzogenrath possède encore 3 autres gares : HZ-Alt-Merkstein, HZ-August-Schmidt-Platz et Kohlscheid.
