Nennigmühle est situé à environ 3 kilomètres au sud-est de Pockau dans la vallée de la Flöha. La route d'État 223 Flöha–Olbernhau traverse le village, et par la route de district 8112, il y a une connexion à Sorgau ainsi qu'à Wernsdorf dans la direction opposée.
En 1764, Nennigmühle est mentionné comme le moulin officiel de l'administration de Lauterstein. En 1840, le hameau a été rattaché à la paroisse de Zöblitz. August Schumann a mentionné en 1825 dans le lexique d'État de Saxe que Nennigmühle appartenait à Wernsdorf :
