L’ancienne gare de Schwäbisch Gmünd Süd est un monument culturel de Schwäbisch Gmünd. Il est situé sur le tracé de la ligne de chemin de fer désaffectée de Hohenstaufen, qui est aujourd’hui utilisée comme piste cyclable.
Après l’approbation de la construction du chemin de fer de Hohenstaufen entre Schwäbisch Gmünd et Göppingen en 1905, la direction générale des chemins de fer royaux du Wurtemberg sous la direction de Baurat Korherr a établi les plans de toutes les gares de la ligne. Avant même l’ouverture de la ligne en 1911, la gare a été achevée en 1909. Il a été conçu pour un grand nombre de personnes afin de pouvoir accueillir les navetteurs des usines d’orfèvrerie locales.
