Hundseck est un petit village à 884 m sur la route principale de la Forêt-Noire. La zone résidentielle appartient aux communes de Bühl, Bühlertal et Ottersweier, la remontée mécanique vers Bühlertal. Il se trouve au sud de la Mehliskopf, à la jonction de la L 80b, qui vient du quartier Forbach de Hundsbach et se jette sur la route principale de la Forêt-Noire. Plusieurs pistes de ski de fond et de randonnée partent d’ici. À Hundseck, il y a une piste de ski avec remontée, une auberge associée, une cabane de ski, plusieurs centres de loisirs et des bâtiments résidentiels. Le Kurhaus, qui a été partiellement démoli en 2012, et plus tard la maison des mineurs, est frappant.
