Le château d’Untertraubenbach était situé dans le quartier du même nom dans la ville de Cham dans le Haut-Palatinat dans l’arrondissement de Cham en Bavière.
Le nom Untertraubenbach est dérivé du Traubenbach, qui se jette ici dans le Regen. Le ruisseau a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document en 1003 sous le nom de Drubinaha, lorsque l’empereur Henri II a fait don du domaine de Hötzing au diocèse de Freising. Drubinaha signifie eau sombre et trouble, qui a été causée par les aulnes et les saules.
