Le champ funéraire pour enfants au Nouveau cimetière de Gießen pour les enfants décédés qui ne sont pas soumis à l'obligation d'inhumation a été ouvert en 1999 dans une partie nouvellement aménagée du Nouveau cimetière de Gießen. À un emplacement central du champ funéraire se trouve la sculpture "Geborgen" de la sculptrice Heide-Birgitt Theiß.
Le Nouveau cimetière de Gießen est situé sur le Rodtberg, au nord de la ville. Le champ funéraire pour enfants a été créé dans la section XIV du cimetière, au nord-ouest.
