Le musée minéralogique de l’université Philipps de Marbourg est une vaste collection de découvertes géologiques qui remonte à la fin du 18e siècle. Actuellement, la collection comprend 60 000 minéraux, 55 000 échantillons de roches, 15 000 échantillons de pierres précieuses brutes et 150 météorites. Il s’agit donc de la plus grande collection de minéraux et de roches de Hesse. La collection est principalement une collection d’enseignement et de recherche. Le musée appartient aujourd’hui au Département de géographie.
