Le château de Münzingen, dans le quartier de Münzingen à Fribourg, est situé légèrement en hauteur sur le Schloßbuck.
Le château a été construit par Johann Friedrich von Kageneck en 1672. Son successeur, le comte impérial Johann Friedrich von Kageneck, fit reconstruire certaines parties dans le style baroque au XVIIIe siècle, probablement d’après les plans de Johann Jakob Fechter. Au cours de cette période, le peintre d’église Simon Göser a peint le plafond de la salle à manger avec un ancien ciel des dieux.
