La télécabine a été construite par l’entreprise italienne Leitner à l’occasion de l’IGA 2017, qui s’est tenu à Berlin, et a été inaugurée le 13 avril 2017, en présence du président de la République allemande, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
La télécabine traverse l’Erholungspark Marzahn, reliant les deux quartiers de Marzahn et Hellersdorf à l’est de Berlin.
