Kessel est un quartier de la ville de Goch dans le district de Kleve, en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie. Le village compte 2134 habitants. Lors du concours Notre village a d'avenir, le lieu a remporté en 2006 une médaille d'or aux côtés de sept autres villages de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie.
Tout comme Goch, Kessel est également situé sur la Niers. En plus du village proprement dit, les parties Nergena et Grunewald font partie de la localité. La limite ouest du village correspond également à la frontière avec les Pays-Bas, incluant les localités d'Ottersum et Gennep. Au nord-ouest, la forêt impériale borde le village.
