Oviedo est une ville du nord de l'Espagne fondée au VIIIe siècle, capitale de la communauté autonome et de la province des Asturies . En 2018, la ville compte 220 020 habitants. D'aventureux habitants d'Oviedo ont baptisé du même nom trois villes au Paraguay, en République dominicaine et aux États-Unis d'Amérique. Sa devise est « La muy noble, muy leal, benemérita, invicta, heroica y buena ciudad de Oviedo » .
