Bacares est une municipalité espagnole de la province d'Almería dans la communauté autonome d'Andalousie, située dans la comarca de la vallée de l'Almanzora et à 73 km de la capitale provinciale, Almería. Sa population en 2021 est de 250 habitants. Le terme "Bacares" semble dériver de l'arabe vaca, 'vaquería' - lieu où se garde le bétail bovin ou quartier de huttes et de bergers. Le terme provient également de la même racine que le mot latin vacca. L'élevage transhumant a été une activité d'une grande importance à Bacares durant le Moyen Âge d'al-Ándalus et jusqu'au XVIIIe siècle, ce qui confirmerait cette hypothèse.
