La Ràpita est une commune de la comarque du Montsià dans la province de Tarragone en Catalogne . Elle est membre de la mancomunidad de la Taula del Sénia.
Jusqu'au milieu du XVIIIe siècle, la commune est un village de pêcheurs du delta de l'Èbre appelé La Rápita. Le roi Charles III ordonne alors la construction d'un port dans la zone du delta et la construction d'un important centre urbain dans le village. L'endroit reçoit, en son honneur, le nom de San Carlos de la Rápita .
