La collégiale de Saint-Pierre se trouve dans la localité catalane d'Ager, dans la comarca de la Noguera. Elle est située à l'intérieur des murs du château, très près de l'ancien palais des vicomtes.
En 1036, il existait à cet endroit un monastère bénédictin. En 1047, à l'issue de la reconquête de la localité, Arnal Mir de Tost installa dans le cénobe une série de clercs provenant de la comarca d'Osona. Le propre Arnal se chargea de doter l'abbaye et d'obtenir pour celle-ci l'exemption de l'évêché d'Urgell. Arnal de Tost proposa même à Cluny la communauté de Saint-Pierre comme prieuré bien que cette donation ne se soit pas réalisée.
