La tour de Guinette est en fait le donjon d'un ancien château royal qui a disparu aujourd'hui. Elle domine la ville d' +tampes, dans l'Essonne. Le donjon est situé sur le plateau de Guinette, qui est principalement constitué d'un quartier résidentiel. La tour a été construite au XIIe siècle, entre les années 1130 et 1150. Elle a servi de prison pour la reine Ingeburge. C'est un donjon quadrilobé, d'une hauteur de 27 mètres et construit en pierre naturelle. La tour de Guinette a été mentionnée dans le livre « Les Très Riches Heures du duc de Berry ». Le bâtiment a été détruit sous l'ordre du Cardinal de Richelieu.
