Rochesson est une commune française de moyenne montagne située dans le département des Vosges, en région Grand Est. Elle fait partie de la Communauté de communes des Hautes Vosges.
Le village s'étire au creux de la vallée encaissée du Bouchot. En amont, celle-ci permet de rejoindre La Bresse via le col de Grosse Pierre et Gérardmer via le col du Haut de la Côte ; en aval, elle se dirige vers Vagney par un passage plus étroit correspondant à la moraine de l'ancien glacier. Une grande partie du territoire est occupée par la forêt domaniale de Noire Goutte.
