Nanton est une commune française située dans le département de Saône-et-Loire en région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.La commune de Nanton, située à quelques kilomètres au sud-ouest de Sennecey-le-Grand, s'étend entre la Montagne Vannière à l'est, qui constitue le chaînon le plus septentrional des monts du Mâconnais et la plaine de la Grosne à l'ouest. Son altitude s'élève jusqu'à 476 m au cœur de la Vannière.
